Maples Academy

Maples Academy is located on the Jaroda Jatt Main Road in Deoband. If you’re driving through Saharanpur, you’ll probably pass by us. Being on the main road means we get a lot of dust and noise from the passing trucks and tractors. The school has a gate that stays shut during the day to keep the kids safe. Inside, there is a small courtyard and several blocks of classrooms. It’s a busy place. The teachers arrive early to get the chalk and registers ready before the buses show up. We have students from the local villages and the town itself. The building is painted in simple colors, and we try to keep it looking decent, but the weather in Uttar Pradesh can be harsh on the exterior. During the rainy season, the road outside gets muddy, and the kids end up tracking a lot of it inside. We just deal with it as it comes. There isn't a lot of extra space, so we use every corner of the property for something useful. The staff works out of a small office near the entrance where parents come to pay fees or ask questions. We don’t have a lot of modern gadgets; it’s mostly just books and hard work. It’s a local school for local people, and we’ve been part of the Deoband community for some time now. That’s pretty much the story of Maples Academy. We just take things one day at a time.
