Lord Mahavira Academy

Our school is located on Chikana Road. It is a fairly busy road, and we have a gate that leads into our school compound. The building has several floors and we have used every bit of space we have for classrooms and offices. It can get a bit dusty outside, so we are always cleaning the windows and the desks. We have a lot of students who come from the surrounding areas. Some of them come by the school bus and others walk. We have a small playground where the children spend their breaks. It’s not a huge area, but it gets the job done. Our days are pretty full from the time the first bell rings in the morning. We have teachers who have been with us for a long time, and they really know the families in the neighborhood. We don't have a lot of fancy technology in the rooms. We mostly use blackboards and textbooks. In the staff room, we spend our time grading papers and planning for the next week. It’s a very honest kind of work. We don't try to be anything we are not. We just want the kids to come in, learn their lessons, and go home safe. The parents often wait outside the gate in the afternoon to pick up their children. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of school life. We just keep moving forward and doing our best for the kids who are here.
