Malhotra Rice & General Mills

Malhotra Rice & General Mills is on Khannjawala Road in Mullanpur. It's not a complicated place. We process rice and do some general milling work. The machines are old but they still run fine if you treat them right and keep them oiled. We spend most of our mornings getting everything started before it gets too hot in the afternoon. Mullanpur is a busy enough area and being on Khannjawala Road helps people find us without much trouble. We have a few regular guys who have worked here for years. We aren't trying to be the biggest mill around, just doing what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is frustrating but that’s just how things go here sometimes. My uncle used to say that as long as people need rice, we will have work to do. We keep the floor swept as best we can, though grain dust gets everywhere no matter what you do. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours during the harvest season. When things quiet down, we catch up on maintenance and fix the fences. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the mill and the gate. If you need us, you just come by the road and look for the Malhotra sign. It's been like this for a long time. We just keep going.
