Out here in Mammon Majra, things move at their own pace. We started Kalsana Farmer Producer Company Limited because it felt like the right move for the local folks. My name is Jatinder Singh, and we run things from my place here, which used to belong to my father Ranjit Singh. It’s not some big corporate setup with glass walls and fancy chairs. It’s just a room where we get together and figure out how to handle the crops and the sales. We’ve lived on this land for a long time, so we know the soil and what the weather does to the harvest. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when you want it, and other times it comes too much. We just try to help each other out with the seeds and the tools so nobody gets stuck behind. It’s hard work, waking up early and staying out late, but that’s just how it is in the village. People stop by all the time to talk about the market prices or just to have some tea and rest for a bit. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s mostly just us and the neighbors trying to make sure the farming stays worth it for everyone involved. We handle the paperwork and the distribution right from the house, marked as number 265. It gets a bit crowded when the season is busy, but we manage somehow. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the farming going.
