Ambuja Cements Limited

Our spot is at F-44 in the Ambuja Colony in Ropar, Punjab. We are right there with the Ambuja Cements Limited plant. Living and working in the colony means you are never really far from the job. The office is a basic room where we handle the local paperwork and keep things organized for the Ropar operations. Punjab can get incredibly hot in the summer and very cold in the winter, so we are always adjusting. The office doesn't have much furniture, just the essentials like chairs, a few tables, and a cupboard for the records. We spend most of our time coordinating with the different departments and making sure the workers have what they need. It’s a busy place during the harvest season when the roads get full of tractors and trucks. We usually start the day with some tea and a quick chat about what needs to be done. It’s a very grounded way to work. There’s no corporate talk here, just plain English and getting things sorted. We know all the truck drivers by name and they know us. It’s that kind of place. We’ve been here in Ropar for quite a while and the plant is a big part of the landscape. We just try to do our part and keep the wheels turning without making much of a scene. It’s just how things are done here in this part of the country.
