Karuna Bricks

We are out here in Village Pandiri Paphor, right near the main road in Sarbahal. Karuna Bricks has been sitting on this patch of land for some time. Being so close to the road means there’s always a bit of traffic noise, mostly tractors and the occasional bus going into Jharsuguda. The ground here is hard, which is good for stacking but tough on the feet after a long day of walking back and forth. Our yard isn't much to look at, just rows and rows of bricks waiting to go somewhere. The workers live nearby, so there’s usually someone around even if the office door is locked. We spend a lot of time watching the sky because rain really messes with the drying process. In the summer, the heat is something else, so we take long breaks in the middle of the day under the neem tree. People stop by on their way to the city to ask questions or just to get directions. It’s a quiet enough place despite the road. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. Most folks just know us because they see the smoke from the kiln or the big piles from a distance. It’s a lot of manual labor, getting our hands dirty and hoping the batches come out even. That's just how things go around here in Jharsuguda.
