Compukit

Compukit is situated in the Cda Market Complex over by College Square. It is a busy spot, mostly because of all the students from the college nearby always running around. Our shop is tucked in there among the other stalls and businesses. It is usually quite cramped inside because we have boxes of parts and old monitors sitting around everywhere. You know how it is with computer stuff; you never know when a spare cable or an old screw might come in handy, so we tend to keep everything. The noise from the square is constant, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We are just a small team of people who know our way around hardware and software. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Most people find us because their friend told them we could fix their laptop or find a specific part they needed. We spend a lot of time drinking tea and staring at circuit boards. Sometimes a repair takes longer than we thought, and we end up staying late while the market quietens down. It is hard work and the lighting in the complex isn't great, but we enjoy the challenge of figuring out why something isn't turning on. We’re just regular folks who happen to be good with electronics and like being part of the College Square community.
