Our family has been running Bhagwan Dass And Sons for a long time now. We are right there in Prem Nagar, just across from Dev Academy School. You can hear the kids playing during recess while we are working, which is a nice backdrop to the day. It started with the older generation and now the sons are handling most of the heavy lifting. We deal with whatever comes our way. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a regular place with a big shutter and some old signs. Inside, it's mostly full of stock and tools. We know most of the people who walk by because they’ve been living in this part of town as long as we have. It’s the kind of place where you stop for a chat even if you aren't buying anything. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our inventory; it's mostly written down in notebooks that are getting a bit tattered at the edges. Being opposite a school means there is always life on the street. Sometimes it's noisy, sometimes it's quiet, but we are always here. We don't have a big marketing plan or a team of people. It is just a family trying to earn a living and keep the name going. If you need something, you just walk in and ask. That is how we have always done it here in Prem Nagar.
