Our place is in Village Naleri, not too far from the Iqbalpur Road and the post office. It’s a rural area, so things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities. Ultratech Cement Ltd likes it that way for the most part. The air is fresher, even with the dust from the yard. We have a decent-sized space here where we keep the cement bags ready for whoever needs them. Most of our customers are farmers or people from the nearby villages who are doing some construction. We’ve known some of these families for a long time. The workers here mostly live in the village too, so we all walk to work. It’s a small operation even though the name sounds big. We spend a lot of time checking the weather because dampness is the enemy in our line of work. Sometimes the trucks get stuck on the dirt paths leading up to the village if it’s been raining hard. Then we all have to get out there and help. We don't have any fancy brochures or websites. People just know we are here by the post office. We sit outside on the benches when it’s quiet and just watch the world go by. It’s honest work and we take it as it comes. No one here is trying to be a boss, we just work together to get the orders out.
