Northern Pacer Adventure

Rishikesh is where we are based, and it’s a place that never really stops moving. At Northern Pacer Adventure, we spend most of our time near the water or checking over our gear. Our office is more like a storage room filled with life jackets, helmets, and paddles. There is always a slight smell of damp rubber and river water in the air. We wake up early to check the weather and see how the river looks. Some days the water is high and others it’s low, so we have to adjust what we are doing for the day. We spend a lot of time packing up the rafts and loading them onto the trucks to go upstream. It’s physical work and we are usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team; we mostly just talk to people who walk by or hear about us from others. Our clothes are usually half-wet most of the day, but you get used to it after the first few weeks. In the evenings, we sit around and check the ropes and patch up any small holes in the equipment. It’s a simple life centered around the outdoors and the mountains. We just enjoy being outside and doing this kind of work in the hills. It’s hard on the body but we like the fresh air.
