Bombay Hardware Stores

If you go down Nageswar Road in Alote Village, you will find our shop. Bombay Hardware Stores is right there in the heart of the village in the Ratlam district. We have been around for a long time now. The shop is full of all sorts of metal things, tools, and heavy boxes stacked up. It is not very organized to the eye, but we know exactly where everything is kept. The front of the store is usually open to the street so the dust from the road comes in every afternoon. We spend our mornings sweeping and then waiting for the farmers or local builders to stop by for supplies. They usually need a specific nail or a hinge that we have to dig out from the bottom of an old wooden crate. We do not have a computer system to track our things. We just remember what came in last week and what is running low. The ceiling is high and dark, and we have a tall ladder that we use to reach the top shelves. It is a simple life here in Alote. We talk about the weather and the crops with everyone who walks through the door. There is no fancy branding or loud music playing. Just the sound of metal clanking and people chatting about their day. We provide what the village needs to keep things standing and working right. It is an honest day of work and we are glad to be part of the community.
