Bhushan Steel And Strips Limited, New Delhi

Even though the main name says New Delhi, this particular branch is out here in Ratlam on Goshala Road. We work out of the premises owned by Shri Benishayam Mittal. It’s a typical Madhya Pradesh setting, where things move a little slower than the big cities but the work is just as hard. We handle steel and strips, mostly focusing on getting things to local buyers. The building at number 34 isn't new, and it has that lived-in feel. There’s usually a stack of steel sitting near the entrance and a couple of people checking the weights. It gets really dusty on Goshala Road, so we’re always cleaning off the desks and the equipment. We don't have any big corporate slogans or flashy signs out front. People just know us by the address and the name on the gate. It’s a small team, so everyone does a bit of everything, from unloading the trucks to filing the receipts. We've had some long days when the shipments are late, but that’s just part of being in the steel business. It’s not always pretty, and the office can be a bit of a mess during the busy season, but the work gets done correctly. We've been part of the Ratlam community for quite a while now. We share the space with a lot of old ledgers and some basic tools. It's a no-frills kind of life, but we like the familiarity of the road and the regular customers.
