Madimadugu Manipal

Our place is at 8-1-1/1 in Padmanagar Colony, over in Karmanghat. If you know the Saroornagar area, you probably know the colony. Madimadugu Manipal is basically a transport hiring service. We spend our days coordinating where the vehicles need to be and making sure the drivers are ready to go. The colony is usually quiet, but our yard gets a bit loud when the engines start up early in the morning. We have been working out of this spot for a while now. The pin code is 500079 if you are looking it up. Hiring out transport is a lot of logistics and phone calls. Sometimes a vehicle breaks down and we have to scramble to find a replacement so the work doesn't stop. It can be stressful, but that is just the nature of the business. We don't have fancy brochures or a marketing team. We just answer the phone and try to help people move their stuff. The office is just a simple room with a couple of chairs and a lot of logbooks. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the trucks to come back in the evening. It’s a local operation, and most of our workers live nearby in Saroornagar. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the transport gets to where it’s supposed to go without too much trouble. It is a lot of work but it pays the bills.
