Sealhanu Foods Pvt. Ltd.

Our place is located in Gidiyari, right across from Oso Bhavan. Sealhanu Foods has been operating out of this building for several years now. It’s a practical space. We have the main processing floor and a small corner partitioned off for the paperwork. Gidiyari is a decent area for this kind of work. During the day, it is quite loud with the sound of the equipment and the trucks coming and going. We process different types of food items depending on what is in season. We have about ten regular workers. We’ve all become like a small family over the years. We know who is having a hard time and who is doing well. We drink tea together at the small stall down the road during our breaks. The building isn't much to look at from the outside. It’s just grey walls and a big metal gate. We spend a lot of our time cleaning the machines and the floors. Hygiene is important even if we aren't a big corporate factory. My desk is always piled high with transport slips and order forms. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little near the back door, so we have to move the bags away from that spot. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving crates and lifting sacks. By the time evening comes, we are all ready to head home. It’s just a normal job that keeps us going.
