Sanjay Floure Mill

Being near Reliance Fresh on Kadru Road means there’s always people walking by. But a flour mill is a different kind of business. It’s noisy and there is always a bit of white dust in the air. That’s just Sanjay Floure Mill for you. People bring their bags of wheat or corn, and we get to work. The machines have been running a long time now. Sometimes they need a bit of grease or a new belt, but they keep going. We are right here in Ranchi, 834002. It's a practical job. You get flour on your clothes and in your hair by the end of the day. The neighbors don’t seem to mind the sound too much anymore. We see a lot of the same people every week. They trust us with their grain. It’s not a fancy shop with glass windows. It’s more of an open space where the work happens right in front of you. Sometimes it gets really hot inside, especially in the summer months. We just drink some water and keep the motor running. It’s satisfying in a way, seeing the grain turn into fresh flour. We don’t do much advertising. People just know where we are on Kadru Road. We just stick to our work and try to keep the stones sharp for the grinding. It's a simple life, but it's what we know.
