Madhur Swad

Madhur Swad is located in the middle of the chaos at Mahabir Chowk in the Upper Bazar area of Ranchi. If you know Ranchi, you know how crowded and loud Upper Bazar can get with all the rickshaws and people moving about. Our shop is a place where people come when they want something to eat. The name means sweet taste and while we do have some sweets, we also keep a lot of savory snacks and other food items. The space is quite narrow and we have glass cases filled with different things to eat. It can get very hot inside especially when we have the lights on and the place is full of people. We usually have a few staff members scurrying around trying to pack things up as quickly as possible. The floor is often a bit sticky because of all the sugar and syrups we handle every day. We don't have a lot of room for people to sit down so most customers just buy what they need and head back out into the bazaar. It is a very busy atmosphere and sometimes we get a bit grumpy when it’s too crowded but we always get the job done. We’ve been at this location for quite some time now and the building itself is quite old with narrow stairs and high ceilings. It's just a part of the daily grind here where we try to keep the food moving.
