Hindusthan Concrete Pipes Industries is located right at 220, H. B. Road in Kokar. Being right there on National Highway 23 makes it easy for the big trailers to get in and out, which is pretty important for what we do. Making concrete pipes isn't exactly clean work. There’s always a bit of mud or dust around the yard. We have these large molds that we use every day to cast the different sizes. It takes a lot of patience to get them right. Some of the pipes we make are huge, and moving them requires some heavy machinery and a bit of care. We’ve been operating out of this Kokar location for a while. The traffic on the highway is constant, so there is always a background noise of cars and trucks passing by. Our crew is mostly made up of guys who have been doing this for a long time. We don't talk much about visions; we just focus on the task at hand. If a pipe needs to be made, we get the rebar ready, pour the mix, and let it set. It’s a cycle that repeats day after day. Sometimes the rain slows us down, especially when we’re working outside in the yard. But mostly, we just keep the production going. It’s honest work, and the pipes we make end up buried under roads all over the region.
