Glits & Glitters

We’ve been here in Hindpiri for a while now. The shop is right on Lake Road, not too far from Marwari College. If you’re walking down the Main Road in Ranchi, you probably passed us. It’s a busy spot. Most mornings start with getting the shutters up and making sure the displays look okay. We have all sorts of shiny things, hence the name Glits & Glitters. It gets dusty pretty fast with all the traffic outside, so there is a lot of cleaning to do. People come in looking for something for a wedding or maybe just a small gift. We don’t have fancy air conditioning that works all the time, but the fans keep things moving. Sometimes the students from the college drop by just to look around between their classes. It’s mostly just us trying to keep things organized. The shelves are packed with stuff we’ve collected over the months. Ranchi can be quite loud, especially near the main road, but inside here it feels a bit different. We just take it one day at a time, helping whoever walks through the door. It isn't a huge place, but it's ours. We spend a lot of time checking new stock and making sure things are priced right. There’s always a bit of a rush in the evenings. We try to keep the lights bright so people can see the details on the items. It’s a simple setup we’ve got going here.
