The shop is simple. We have three big barber chairs and a long mirror. There’s usually a cricket match on the TV if there’s a game playing. It’s a place where guys can come, sit down, and not have to worry about much. We’ve been in this spot for several years. The lane is narrow, so parking can be a bit of a problem, but most of our customers just walk here from the neighborhood. We use the same brands of shaving cream and oil that you’d see in any house. It’s not about being fancy. We just want to do a decent job so people come back next month. Sometimes the water heater takes a long time to warm up in the winter, so we have to ask customers to wait a bit. Ranchi winters can be quite cold, you know. We’ve got a small bench outside where people sit and talk while they wait their turn. It’s a friendly atmosphere for the locals.
