Azzad Pharma

Our place, Azzad Pharma, is located in Chatra Jori. If you walk past the Jama Masjid here in Chatra, you'll see us nearby. It’s a busy area, especially during prayer times when the streets get crowded with people. We've been here for a few years now. The shop isn't very large, but we keep it organized. Most mornings start with cleaning the counters and checking what needs to be ordered. It's a small team of us. We talk to the local doctors and residents every day. It feels like a community here. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoons, so we have to sit outside for a bit. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in or give us a call on the mobile. The neighbors are nice, and we all help each other out when someone needs something. It’s a lot of repetitive work, checking expiry dates and filing invoices, but it keeps us busy. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Just a local shop handling medicines for the folks in Chatra. The rain can be a problem because the road gets muddy, but we keep the inside dry. We open early because that's when people usually need things the most before they go to work. It’s a decent living and we like being part of the neighborhood.
