Arch Speaks

Arch Speaks is situated right on the Main Road in the Harmu Housing Colony in Ranchi. It’s a pretty straightforward location to find if you’re driving through that part of the city. We’ve been operating out of this colony for a while now, and it’s a bit of a mix of residential and small businesses. Being on the Main Road means we get to see a lot of the local life passing by every day. Our work is mostly focused on architecture, so there is usually a lot of talk about materials, heights, and permits. The office is basically a big room full of tables and computers. We do not have a receptionist or anything like that; usually, someone just looks up from their monitor when the door opens. It’s a very hands-on environment. Ranchi’s Harmu area is quite established, so we feel like we are part of the local fabric here. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with the roadwork outside, but that’s just life in a developing city. We keep our hours, do our sketches, and try to keep up with everything. It is a very practical way to spend the day. We do not use a lot of big words to describe what we do; we just draw plans and talk to people about their buildings. It is what we know and it is what we do right here on Main Road.
