We've been at 3/521 in Pudunagaram for a good while now. Emas Engineers & Contractors Pvt Ltd started out with just a few tools and a lot of driving back and forth across Ramanathapuram. It’s hot here, and the dust gets into everything when we’re out on a site in Uchippuli, but that’s just part of the job. Most days involve checking on concrete pours or making sure the materials arrived at the right time. Sometimes they don't, and we have to make some calls to see where the driver went. We have a small team of local guys who know the land well. It’s not fancy work, mostly just making sure the structural stuff is solid. People stop by the office to talk about their plans, and we look at the drawings over some tea. The paperwork takes up more time than I’d like, especially with all the regulations these days. We try to keep things moving so projects don’t sit idle for too long. My boots are usually covered in mud by three in the afternoon. Ramanathapuram has its own challenges with the soil and the weather, but we’ve learned how to deal with it over the years. We just show up, do the engineering part, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a simple way of making a living, and there’s always another wall to build or a pipe to lay somewhere in the district.
