Ambuja Cements Ltd., Holcim

Our office is situated on Bhilwara Road in Kankroli. It is a part of the Rajsamand district here in Rajasthan. If you have ever driven down this road, you know how much traffic there is with all the trucks and local commuters heading toward Bhilwara. We are right in the middle of it. The building we use is quite plain, nothing fancy at all. We just need a roof over our heads to manage the cement orders and talk to the people who need supplies. We’ve been operating under the Holcim name for a while now, but the day-to-day work is very local. It gets quite hot during the summer months, so we usually have the fans going full blast while we sort through the delivery notes. There isn't a lot of space for visitors to sit, but we always manage to find a chair if someone stops by to talk business. The staff here is small, just a few of us who have lived in this area for years. We know the roads and the local shortcuts. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of numbers on paper. We don't use any complicated systems, just the basics to keep things moving. It’s a steady job in a busy part of town, and we just keep our heads down and get the work finished before the sun goes down. Most days are just about hitting the daily numbers.
