Solanki Mechanic Works

We've been at this spot in Udhyognagar for a good while now. It’s 40-W in the Bhaktinagar part of the G.I.D.C. Estate. If you know the area, it gets pretty busy with all the trucks and noise from the other shops. Solanki Mechanic Works is just a place where we get our hands dirty every day. There’s usually a pile of metal or some machine parts waiting for us when we open up in the morning. Some days it’s quiet, but mostly it’s just the sound of tools hitting metal. We don’t have a fancy office or anything like that. Just the workshop floor and the old desks where we keep the records. It’s hot in the summer, especially with the machines running, but we’re used to it. People around here know where to find us. We mostly deal with the regular stuff that breaks down in the nearby factories. My father started things off and now we just keep it going. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a few of us making sure things work right. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We stay until the job is done, even if it gets late. The address is easy to find once you enter the estate. Just look for the sign that’s been there forever. We don’t do much advertising because the work speaks for itself usually. It is a long day but a good one.
