Shyam Delux Cold Drink

Shyam Delux Cold Drink is right in the middle of Jalaram Chowk, so it’s a pretty lively spot to be every day. We’re on Gayatri Main Road, not far from the Jalaram Temple, which means there are always people walking by, especially in the evenings when things cool down a bit. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack it full of cold drinks of all kinds. The fridges hum all day and night, and we’re always restocking them because people get thirsty in this heat. It’s a simple setup—counters, crates, and a lot of glass bottles clinking together. We spend a lot of time just talking to the neighbors and the people who stop for a quick drink while they’re out doing their errands. The temple bells ringing nearby is just part of the background noise for us now. It’s a local business through and through. We don’t do anything fancy, just make sure the drinks are actually cold and the change is right. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to mess with the backup, which is a pain, but we manage. Living and working around Jalaram Chowk has its own rhythm. It's dusty and noisy, but it’s our place. We don’t have any big corporate plans, just keeping the shop open and serving whoever walks in off the street. It is a plain and simple way to spend the day.
