Raju Madaras Cafe

Raju Madaras Cafe is tucked away at 3/8 Gayakwadi Plot in the Junction Plot area of Rajkot. We are quite close to the Junction Plot main road, so you can hear the traffic and the bikes passing by all day long. Even though we are in Rajkot, we focus on Madaras style food like dosas and idlis. It is a small cafe and we have tried to make the best of the space we have. The floor is just plain and the walls have a few old pictures on them. We start early in the morning because that is when people want their coffee and breakfast before work. The smell of sambar is usually the first thing you notice when you walk in. We use the same big iron tawa for the dosas that we have had for years. It is a bit noisy because of the location, but our regulars do not seem to mind much. They just grab a seat where they can. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine well. The Junction Plot neighborhood is a busy one and there are always people walking around near the main road. We see a lot of the same faces every day, which is nice. It is not a fancy place by any means, just a local cafe where you can get a quick bite and a hot drink. We keep things moving and try not to let the orders pile up.
