Our spot is right on the Aji Gidc Main Road, specifically Plot 379/A. We run the Shree Bavishi Weigh Bridge here. If you’ve ever been to this part of the industrial estate, you know it’s all about the heavy trucks and the dust. We spend the whole day watching these massive vehicles pull up onto the platform. It’s a simple process but it has to be done right every time. My office is a small room right next to the scale. I’ve got my computer and the ticket printer, and that’s about it. It’s noisy because of the factory machines nearby and the constant rumbling of the engines. Sometimes the drivers are in a hurry and they get a bit impatient, but we just do our job and hand them their slips. I’ve seen all sorts of cargo pass through here, from raw metal to finished goods. It’s a repetitive kind of work, but I like the rhythm of it. The sun hits the main road pretty hard in the afternoon, so we stay inside as much as we can. We keep a water cooler in the corner for anyone who needs a drink. It’s not the kind of place people visit for fun, but if you’re doing business in GIDC, you probably know where we are. We just focus on keeping the scale working and the records straight. We've been around since this plot was mostly empty ground, and now it's just nonstop traffic everywhere.
