Riya Tea Company

Our office is up on the 4th floor of Samruddhibhavan, which is at Plot No. Sf/24 on Gondal Road. If you are looking for us, we are right across from the Bombay Petrol Pump. Being on the 4th floor means we have to take the lift every day, and sometimes it doesn't work so we use the stairs. It’s a good workout for us. We deal with tea here, mostly just the paperwork and the small samples. There are always little jars of tea leaves sitting on the desks. The smell of the leaves is quite strong in the mornings when we first open the windows to let the fresh air in. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. It gets a bit hot in the summer because the sun hits this side of the building directly. We just turn on the fans and keep going with the work. Riya Tea Company isn't a massive corporation. We just know our tea and we know the traders on Gondal Road. Most of our conversations are about prices and transport issues. We don't really do anything fancy for our customers. If someone comes by, we just offer them a stool and talk business for a bit. It’s a very straightforward way to spend the day. We finish up around six and head home.
