Veraval is a major hub for this kind of work, so we are surrounded by other shops doing similar things. Our facility is pretty large because the machines we handle are quite big and heavy. It’s an industrial shed with high ceilings and a lot of open space for moving the equipment around with cranes or forklifts. There is always a layer of fine metal dust on things and the smell of cutting fluid is pretty constant. We don’t spend much time worrying about the decor; the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that’s not really a priority when there are machines to be built. We have a small office tucked away in the front where we keep the records and meet with people who come to see the tools in person. It’s a very practical, no-nonsense environment. Most of the day is spent on the shop floor, making sure the lathes and milling machines are being put together correctly. It gets loud when everything is running at once, but we’re used to it. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step and keep your hands busy, and that’s just how we like to work every day.
