Paresh Tea Co. is out in the GIDC area of Metoda, specifically at G-1303 in Lodhika. It’s quite a way out, but it’s where all the action is for manufacturing. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell. It’s that deep, earthy scent of dried tea leaves that gets into your clothes and follows you home. We spend our days sorting, blending, and packing. It’s repetitive work, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that we all like. The warehouse is large and can get a bit drafty in the winter, but usually, it’s just warm and dusty. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we handle the orders and the paperwork. Most of us have worked with tea for a long time, so we can tell a lot just by the feel of the leaves. We don't use any fancy machinery for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand because that’s just how we’ve always done it. We aren't big on fancy packaging or huge advertisements. People know us because we’ve been around for a while. We take our afternoon breaks seriously, usually with a hot cup of whatever we’re packing that day. It’s a simple business, built on hard work and long hours in the GIDC heat. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and we have to wait around, but we just use that time to sweep up or check the inventory one more time. It’s not a glamorous life, but we like the honesty of the trade.
