Nilam Soda

We are located on Street No-8 in the Kadiya Plot area. If you know where the railway station is, we are just a short walk from there. It is a handy spot because people getting off the trains are often looking for something cold to drink. Right across from us is Babubhai Sodawala, so we have some friendly competition on the street. Our shop is simple, just a counter and the soda machines and a lot of glass bottles. We spend a lot of time cleaning the bottles and filling them back up. The noise from the station is always in the background, with the whistles and the announcements. It can get a bit chaotic when a big train arrives and a crowd of people comes down the street all at once. We just keep our heads down and serve whoever is next in line. Sometimes the carbonation levels need adjusting, and that takes a bit of fiddling with the valves. We have been doing this for a long time, so we don't really think about it much anymore. The shop is small and it gets crowded with crates if we don't keep them organized. It is just a regular job for us, and we try to keep the place as clean as you can when you are dealing with syrup and water all day long. It gets sticky but we manage.
