We’re located right on 8-A National Highway. It’s easy to find because we’re near the GIDC area. Being on the highway means there’s a constant sound of trucks and cars passing by. It’s a dusty place, as you can imagine. We work with chemicals, so the smells are quite strong sometimes. We have some storage tanks and a processing area. It’s not a place for fancy clothes; we mostly wear work gear that gets stained. The office is just a small room at the front with a couple of chairs and a ceiling fan that clicks. We spend a lot of time outside checking on things. The sun is pretty brutal out here on the highway. We’ve been here for quite a while. Most of the people working here live in the nearby towns. We don’t have any big slogans or anything. We just mix the stuff and load the tankers. It’s heavy work and the days are long. When the GIDC gets busy, the roads get even more crowded. We usually eat our lunch in the shade of the main shed. It’s a practical business. We deal with what’s in front of us. No one here is trying to be a corporate executive. We’re just industrial workers doing our jobs. The heat gets to you sometimes, but we keep the water cooler full and just keep on moving along. It’s just how things are out here on the road.
