We’ve been here at Sagar Apartment for a while now. If you know Kalawad Road, you know it gets pretty busy, especially right across from where the State Bank of Hyderabad used to be or is, depending on who you ask these days. Our spot isn't huge, but it fits everything we need. Most mornings start with the same routine, just opening up the shutters and seeing who’s already out and about in the Kalawad/N area. It’s a lot of local faces. Sometimes the traffic is so loud you can’t hear yourself think, but that is just part of being on this main road. We spend a lot of time organizing things on the shelves because space is tight in this part of the building. The apartment residents upstairs often pop down just to say hello or ask a quick question while they're heading out to work. It’s not a fancy setup. We have the usual counters and some old chairs for when someone needs to sit for a minute. The light in here is okay during the day, but we rely on those overhead tubes once the sun starts going down behind the bank across the way. We keep things pretty simple. There’s no big team here, just a couple of us making sure everything is where it should be. It’s just work, really. People come in, get what they need, and head back out into the noise of the street. It feels like home after all this time.
