Kalakruti Handicraft

Our shop, Kalakruti Handicraft, is located in the City Shop area. We are right opposite the Jagnath Police Chowki on Dr. Yagnik Road. If you know the area, it’s a very busy part of the city. We have all kinds of handmade items packed into our space. It’s not a massive store, so things are often stacked up high on the shelves. We’ve been in this location for a long time, and we've seen Dr. Yagnik Road change a lot over the years. There are way more cars and bikes now than there used to be. The police station across the street makes it easy for people to find us. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. People usually just stop by because they were passing through and saw something in the window. We spend a lot of our day cleaning and rearranging the items. Dust is a constant battle with the road so close. Our customers are mostly locals, though we do get some visitors from out of town. It’s a nice way to spend the day, talking to people about the different crafts we have. We don't have a computer system for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand in our ledgers. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us and keeps us busy until we close for the night.
