Gatral Minerals

Gatral Minerals is located out in Porbandar G.I.D.C. at Plot No.-39-40. It’s an industrial area, so it’s always loud with trucks and machines running, but we are used to it. We deal with minerals and rocks all day. Most of our time is spent checking the loads and making sure the quality is okay before anything moves out. It is hard work and your clothes get dirty pretty fast when you’re working here. We have been at this plot for a while and we know the other guys in the G.I.D.C. well. Porbandar has a lot of this kind of work going on because of the local geology. We don't spend much time on computers or fancy stuff. Mostly we are out on the floor or near the storage area. It’s a practical business. If you come by, you’ll see piles of material and people busy moving things around. There isn’t a big sign or anything, just the plot number and our gate. The weather gets hot in the summer and the dust can be a lot, but we just keep moving. We’ve had the same crew for a bit now and everyone knows what they need to do. It’s not a glamorous job but it is steady. We just focus on getting the orders ready and keeping the yard organized as much as we can. It’s just how we do things here in the industrial zone. It's tough work but it's ours and it keeps us all going.
