Amit Industries

We’ve been here at Plot No. 17 in Bhakti Nagar for a good while now. The station plot area is always busy, people coming and going from the trains, and we're right in the middle of it. If you walk past our gate, you’ll probably hear the machines running or see one of us hauling stuff around. It isn't a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. Some mornings are slow when the tea stall down the road is crowded, but once we start, we keep at it until the sun goes down. Most of the guys here have been working together for years, so we know each other's habits pretty well. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but that doesn’t stop the work. We handle whatever comes through the door, mostly metal parts and industrial bits, depending on what the order is that day. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, but we have a couple of old fans that keep the air moving. Dealing with the traffic near the station is a bit of a headache sometimes, but we are used to the noise by now. We just try to keep things organized and make sure the parts are what people asked for when they come to pick them up. It’s just a regular day-to-day life here at Amit Industries. We don't have a big front office or anyone to answer the phones, so we usually just talk to folks at the gate while they load their trucks.
