Down in Nagola, life is tied to the land and the local projects. Our office is in the village, part of the Kekri tehsil via Bhinai. It’s deep in the Ajmer district, so it feels quite far from the big city rush. We handle the cement requirements for the farmers and local builders around here. It’s a quiet spot most of the time, except when a shipment arrives. Then it’s all hands on deck to get things unloaded and organized. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the area well. The office is simple, with old fans and a lot of registers. We spend a lot of time talking to people who come in from the surrounding villages. They usually want to know about prices or when the next truck is coming in from the plant. It’s a very direct way of doing business. We don’t use much technology besides the basics. Most of our day is spent making sure the bags are stored properly and the paperwork for the district office is done. Rajasthan heat is no joke, so we start early to beat the sun. Working in Nagola means you are part of the community. Everyone knows where the cement depot is. We just keep things running as best as we can, day after day. It might not look like much, but it is important work for us here.
