Tirumala Sri Ventashwara Cement Works

Our workshop is located at Pl.No.7-7-15, which is right near Kumari Talkies. If you know the Godavari Bund area, you probably know the sound of the cinema playing and the river nearby. We spend our days dealing with cement works, mostly small batches or whatever people need for their home repairs. It’s a bit messy, with white dust getting on everything, but we don't mind much. The trucks bring in the bags and we stack them up in the shade so they stay dry. Being near the talkies means there is always people walking by, especially in the evenings when the shows start. Sometimes they stop and ask what we are doing or if we have enough for a small wall or a floor patch. We’ve seen the river levels go up and down over the years from where we sit. It’s a steady kind of life here on the bund. We don't use fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is just manual labor and keeping track of who needs what. The shop is small but it fits everything we need. When the weather is hot, the cement dries fast, so we have to be quick with the water. It’s just how we do things at Tirumala Sri Ventashwara Cement Works. We have been in this spot for a long time and the locals know to look for us right by the theater.
