Sri Vijay Durga Brick Works

Out on Rajanagaram Road in the Komaripalem area, you will find our brick yard. The official address is 47/58/3, but most people just look for the tall stacks along the side of the road. We have been doing this job for a lot of years and it is the kind of work where your hands stay dirty from morning until night. You are always watching the sky because a sudden rain can really mess up the bricks while they are sitting out to dry. We have a good amount of space here, which is helpful because we need to store a lot of stock for the busy season. Trucks come and go all day, taking loads to various building sites around the village. It is a lot of physical labor, stacking and loading by hand, but it is what we know how to do. We do not have a showroom or a front desk with a secretary. If you come by, you will probably find us near the kiln or maybe taking a quick break in the shade. Komaripalem is generally a quiet place but this road sees a lot of action. We keep things very simple around here with no big speeches or complicated paperwork to fill out. Just the bricks and the sweat it takes to make them is all there is. The sun gets really hot in the middle of the day, so we try to do the heaviest lifting as early as we can.
