Rashtriya Higher Secondary School

You can find us over at the Bal Ashram Campus, right near the Raipur Kutchery. It’s a very central location, so there’s always something happening nearby with the courts and the government offices. The campus has a lot of history to it, and you can feel that when you walk through the entrance. We have been teaching kids from this part of Raipur for a long time. The classrooms are quite large, and the desks are the heavy kind that have seen better days. We don't have fancy air conditioning, so we rely on the big ceiling fans during the hotter months. It gets pretty loud during the breaks when students are running around the campus grounds. Many of our students come from modest backgrounds, so we try to keep things practical and helpful for them. The staff room is always full of tea cups and stacks of notebooks that need grading. We have a lot of regular events, like Independence Day, where everyone gets together in the main yard. Being so close to the Kutchery means we see a lot of the city’s daily hustle right outside our walls. It’s a busy, sometimes dusty place, but it’s home for us. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the students through their higher secondary exams every year without making a big fuss about it. It is just a part of the local community.
