If you walk down Banjari Road, you will find us at the Ram Janki Complex. Payal Toys is in Shop No. 8, right there in the Purani Basti area. It is a busy spot with people always moving around. Our shop is filled with boxes and toys stacked up on the shelves. Sometimes they almost touch the ceiling. We spend a lot of time just organizing the new stock that comes in every week. It gets a bit messy when kids come in and start looking at everything, but that is just part of the job. The light in the complex isn't the brightest, so we have our own lamps to make the colors of the toys stand out. We have been here for a while and know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It is a tight space, but we make it work. Most days are loud with the traffic outside and the music playing from the neighboring shops. We sit on our small stools near the counter and wait for the next person to walk in. It is a simple life in Purani Basti. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. Just a lot of toys and a small counter where we handle the cash. It gets dusty because of the road, so we are always wiping things down. We just keep going one day at a time here and try to keep things in order.
