Our company is Samarthan Farmers Producer Company Limited and we are located in Malda, which is in the Bsarangarh area. It is a pretty rural spot, which makes sense because we are all about farming. We don’t have a big complicated address with multiple floor numbers or anything like that. People just know where Malda is and they can find us easily enough. We work with a lot of local farmers around here. Every day is a bit different depending on what the crops need. One day we might be worrying about the pests and the next day it is all about the market prices. It’s a straightforward life. We have a small office where we keep our files and sit down to have our meetings. It is definitely not a corporate environment. There is usually some dirt on the floor and the smell of the fields is never too far away. We like it that way because it reminds us why we started this producer company in the first place. Bsarangarh is a good place for this kind of work. The community is tight and we all try to help each other out when things get difficult with the weather. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the farmers in Malda get a fair shake. It’s honest work and we take it one day at a time without any big fuss or flashy advertisements or anything like that.
