Hamar Yuva Kisaan Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Village Kouwtapohardi. We’re working from Shashi Prabha Rautia’s place near the Thana in Sarangarh. It’s a local operation, mostly run by people who grew up right here in the area and know the soil. The village is quiet for the most part, except for when the harvest is coming in and the trucks start moving. Our office is just a couple of rooms that Shashi Prabha let us use to keep the records straight. We’ve got some basic furniture and a few shelves filled with files and agriculture books. It feels more like a home than a business sometimes, which we actually like because it's comfortable. People drop by without an appointment all the time, and we usually have a pot of tea ready to go on the stove. Sarangarh is a good place to be, and we feel lucky to be working with the young farmers around here. We aren't trying to sound like some big company from the city with big marketing plans. We’re just trying to figure out how to make farming work better for everyone involved in the community. Sometimes we spend the whole day out in the fields and only come back to the office to lock up at night. There’s a lot of mud on our boots most of the time. We don't have any big corporate goals, just the desire to do good work.
