Walchandarnagar Industries Ltd.

This is the engine and foundry division of Walchandarnagar Industries Ltd. We are located right on Satara Road. If you know the area, it's pretty easy to find us. It’s a big site. The foundry is a hot place, especially during the summer months when the air just stays still. We spend most of our time dealing with molds and heavy metal parts. It's dirty work, but someone has to do it. We’ve been here for a long time. The road outside is always busy with traffic going toward the city. You can hear the trucks all day long. We start our shifts early. There’s a lot of old equipment around, but it still works fine for what we need. We don’t spend money on making things look pretty. It’s a factory. We focus on the engines and the casting. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend all day fixing them. It’s just part of the job. Most of the staff live nearby, so we see each other outside of work too. Satara Road has changed, but the foundry stays pretty much the same. Just metal, heat, and a lot of grease. We keep the gates open during the day for deliveries. It's just a regular workday here. We have a small canteen where we eat lunch. The tea is always hot. We don't talk much about anything other than the work at hand. That's how we've always done it.
