Pos India Steel Processing Centre

Out here in Talegaon, things are definitely a bit quieter than the main city, but the work at the steel processing centre is always constant. We’ve got a decent-sized space where we handle all the cutting and preparing of steel sheets for our clients. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the machines are calibrated just right for the day's tasks. The concrete floor stays surprisingly cool even when the afternoon sun is beating down on the tin roof. We spend most of our time out there with the guys, checking the incoming loads and outgoing shipments. It’s not the kind of place you’d visit if you wanted to see something pretty or polished. It’s industrial through and through, with metal shavings everywhere. The coffee machine in the small breakroom is almost always broken, so most of us just bring our own flasks from home. Most of our work comes from the nearby factories that need specific sizes of steel for their own production lines. We don’t talk much about goals or anything like that; we just focus on getting the dimensions right so nobody has to send anything back. If the delivery truck is late, the whole schedule gets pushed back, and we often end up staying quite late. That’s just part of life in a processing center. It’s honest work, though it’s definitely tiring on the back and shoulders. We've been part of the Talegaon landscape for quite a while now.
