Kumbharu Marina Fishermen is a small group of us working out of Borli in the Shriwardhan area of Raigarh. We are based at the address of Prakash Motiram Waghe in Adgaon. Being right by the coast, fishing is what we know best. It’s been our way of life for a long time. We don't have a big corporate structure. It's more about the boats and the sea. Every morning starts very early, often before the sun is even up, to see what the catch will be. Some days the sea is kind and we come back with plenty, and other days it’s a struggle. That’s just how it goes for fishermen. We deal with the local markets and try to keep things moving. The weather is a huge factor for us, and we spend a lot of time watching the clouds and the waves. Our setup is simple. We don't use big words or fancy marketing. We just catch fish and sell them. It’s hard on the body, and the salt air wears everything down, but we wouldn't know what else to do. Being in Raigarh, we're part of a tight-knit community where everyone knows each other’s business. We just want to keep our boats running and provide for our families. It’s a basic life, centered on the water and the seasons. Nothing fancy about it.
