Working out of Taloja MIDC means we are surrounded by factories and big trucks all day long. Our spot is W 128 B, which is right in the thick of the industrial area near Village Tondre. It’s a busy place in Panvel, especially during the shift changes when the roads get completely blocked. We handle food products, so we have to stay on top of everything before it gets too hot in the afternoon. The shed we have is sturdy, but it definitely feels the heat of the Raigad sun. Most of our guys come from the villages nearby, so they know the shortcuts around the industrial estate. It's not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy furniture or air conditioning in every room. We mostly focus on getting the food loaded and sent off to wherever it’s going. There’s a lot of dust from the construction nearby, and we’re constantly cleaning the floors. It’s hard work, and the hours can be long if a shipment is late. We don't really have a front desk or anything like that. If someone stops by, they usually just find us in the back checking the crates. It’s an honest way to make a living, even if the surroundings are a bit grey and industrial. We’ve been here for a bit now, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the machines and the constant sound of the horns on the highway.
