Puncha Agro Producer Company Limited

Our office is on the ground floor of Kalipada Mahato’s house in Village-Kenda. Being part of Puncha Agro Producer Company Limited means we spend a lot of time together talking about the land. We are located in the Puncha block of Purulia, which most people know is a bit of a dry place. It takes a lot of work to get things to grow here. We are just a group of local farmers who decided to pool our resources and work as one. Kalipada handles the paperwork, but we all pitch in. The village is small and everyone knows everyone else’s business, which is just how it is in Kenda. We do not have any corporate training or fancy mission statements. We just want to make sure our families can keep farming. The weather is the main thing we talk about, especially when the rain is late. Most days, you will find a few of us sitting on the ground floor, looking over maps of the fields or discussing seed prices. It is a basic setup with just the essentials. We are not looking to become a giant company. We just want to stay reliable for the other growers in our community. The road to Balakdih can be dusty, but it is the path we take every day. We are just regular people trying to make a go of it in a tough environment.
