Venuselectrical Engineering Works

Our workshop is located in Haradhanpally, over in the Natunganj area of Purba Burdwan. It’s usually pretty noisy inside because of the machines and tools we use for the electrical jobs. We spend most of the day surrounded by copper wire, old motors, and various parts that need fixing. It’s the kind of place where your hands are always greasy or dusty from handling equipment. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most people just walk in through the big front door and tell us what’s broken. Some days are slow, just cleaning up the bench and organizing the drawers, but other times it feels like every pump and motor in Burdwan has decided to stop working at the same time. My tea usually gets cold because I get caught up in a complicated wiring job. The heat in the shed can be quite a lot during May, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, so most of the neighbors know the sound of our grinders. It isn't a clean job, and there’s always something humming in the background, but it’s what we do. We just take the work as it comes and try to get the repairs finished so the farmers or shop owners can get back to their own business without waiting too long.
