You can find Khapy Maa Masala Bhandar right on Bus Stand Road in Katwa. Being near the railway counter means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around outside. We’ve been operating from this spot for some time, focusing on spices that people use in their kitchens every day. It gets quite dusty out there with all the buses and trains, but inside we just focus on the masalas. The smell of ground turmeric and chili is always strong when you walk in. Sometimes it makes us sneeze, but you get used to it after a while. We aren't a big factory or anything, just a small place where we pack things up and sell them to locals and travelers. A lot of folks stop by on their way to the train to grab a packet or two for their homes. We don't have a fancy website or a big team, just a few of us making sure the bags are filled right and the scale is working. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot, but it’s what we do. Katwa is a busy town, and being near the station keeps us on our feet. We don't try to be anything we aren't, just a place to get your spices without any fuss. The floor might need a sweep more often than we get to it, but the products are what people come for.
